Duskwalker is my first novel, written madly over the course of six months in 2014, and was without a doubt the roughest draft of a story that I’d ever finished. It was a massive learning experience that taught me how not to write a novel, as the next two years of rewrites and cuts and adds and edits would further drive home. But I did learn a lot about my writing process in the writing of it, most specifically how it needed to change.

While it’s not my greatest work, I did manage to turn it into something that’s readable, after a lot of gruelling effort. Having said that, it’s been through four drafts now, and I can still think of things that I want to go back and change, which is rather unique for me. Usually I have a pretty clean first draft. Alas, that seems to be the curse of Duskwalker, to always need more work.

I’ll be posting it here after I have one final edit through, but I can’t say for sure when that will be.
